One man’s right to remain silent is another man’s chance to rep his fan base while getting cuffed on national TV.
During Saturday’s episode of "Live PD" on the A&E network, cops busted underage drinkers at a party, where they found pills, marijuana and plenty of alcohol.
With cameras zooming in on the arrests, an Alabama football fan got in a “Roll Tide!” before being driven off the site, triggering a made-for-TV comedic exchange.
“I’m on TV?” the fan said.
“Yeah,” replied the cops.
“Oh … roll tide! Hey mom!” the fan grinned.
The officer tightening the handcuffs couldn’t help but snicker.
There may just be something about the cold touch of steel that brings out team spirit in Crimson Tide fans.
In a 2014 local news report, another Alabama fan blurted out “Roll Tide!” after proclaiming his innonence in a police drug bust.
The “Live PD” character had the benefit of his face being blurred, so even if his mother was watching, the network saved her and her son from national embarrassment.
Plus, it’s the offseason, kid.
