SEE IT: Akron softball player lands on her face when trying to slide into second base

That’s one way to head for second.

Akron’s Madison Carter had a moment she probably wants to forget when the Zips took on Buffalo Tuesday afternoon.

Carter was sprinting to second on a bunt by teammate Jenna Jones and when she went to slide, Carter flopped in front of the bag, going head-first into the ground.

Carter, who somehow was able to get up and land on the base safely, was a little roughed up on the play and ended up looking out of the top of her helmet.

The outfielder is freshman so she’ll have plenty of time to redeem herself for the viral slide.

Unfortunately for Carter and the Zips, Akron ended up losing the first game 3-0 to Buffalo. However, they’d rebound just like Carter did after her horrific slide in the second game of the double-header with a 4-1 win.
