The “discount double-check” meets the double pistol.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers got into a Twitter battle with the parody account of “Happy Gilmore” villain Shooter McGavin.
In his first few days of dealing with his break up with Olivia Munn, Rodgers is apparently using the green jacket theif as his punching bag.
The Shooter McGavin account tweeted at Rodgers Wednesday that golf would be a great way for the quarterback to stay in shape this offseason because he once “ran 3 miles during a round of gold in ‘96,” while posting a video of him getting chased down by Mr. Larson (Richard Kiel).
Rodgers responded to the account asking how can it be a great workout if he was caught while calling it fake news. McGavin responded by suggesting that Larson could have played in the NFL while calling himself an “innocent golfer.”
This started an exchange that went back and forth for nearly two hours with “Happy Gilmore” references being thrown around by the dozens.
Rodgers brought up how McGavin had Happy Gilmore run over with a golf cart, passed on a meal at Red Lobster with an attempted murderer, the Bob Barker brawl and of course “the fat naked bikers in the woods having sex.
The Twitter battle came to an end with McGavin asking Rodgers to meet him on the ninth green at 9 p.m. to “iron this out.”
McGavin is played by Christopher McDonald, but it doesn’t appear as though the actor is the man behind the account. Despite not being verified, Shooter McGavin has over 308,000 Twitter followers.
