Mighty Quinn: June 15

Somehow Frank Buongervino remembered Mighty’s first day at the Daily News was Sunday, June 16, 1968, two days after graduating from Christ The King H.S.:

49 YEARS = “A lot of blood, sweat and tears.”

49 YEARS = “Lots of Sportsmania Pub beers.”

49 YEARS = “Winners, losers, ties and alibis.”

49 YEARS = “Rosedale characters you introduced us to: Big Artie, Big Walter, Miserable Miskell. Farley O’Fink, Kiss Of Death Kelly, Louie The Louse, Benny No Legs, Freddie Papers, Dictionary Jack, The Mayor, Bugsy, George P, Joey D and don’t forget about me.”

50 YEARS = “A nice round number. I say quit next year and join the retirees club and hang out with me at Larry’s Pub. Watch out for my pal, Tim. He likes to pick on Rosedale guys like us.”

NOTE: You can email Mighty at mightyqq@hotmail.com

Mighty missed with the Giants on Wednesday and likes the Orioles on Thursday. The deficit is 1370 sirignanos.
