Mighty Quinn: April 5

Billy (The Burglar) Lavelle bartender at The Sports Lounge in Bradenton Beach, Fla. shared this story with us:

“So I’m at work and this guy walks in the bar. Muscular, shades, thick New York accent and he says to me, ‘Are you Billy The Burglar?’ So, after taking a couple steps backward, I go, ‘Yeah, who’s asking?’ And he says, ‘I’m Richie from East Rutherford, and I read The Mighty Quinn column in the N.Y. Daily News every day and I see him mention you in there every so often.’

“Seems Richie vacations here in Bradenton Beach and thought he’d look me up, and bring me the last article I was mentioned in. Now, no one outside of NY/NJ knows me by that little moniker, so after getting all of these thoughts about a hitman out of my head, it turns out he was just a nice guy bringing me the article. What a relief.”

Mighty was waiting on the Nets (+1 1/2) on Tuesday and likes the Heat on Wednesday. The deficit is 950 sirignanos.
