Infiniti has set its sights on the Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLE with its future large luxury SUV offering.
Called the Infiniti QX80 Monograph, the concept highlights the brand’s future design direction for its large SUV.
The current QX80 is based on the Nissan Patrol, and misses the mark in terms of luxury styling and fit-out, especially for the $100,000-plus price tag.
Infiniti has smoothed out the hulking lines of the current QX80 and made it a more handsome proposition, with a profile more similar to a Range Rover Sport.
A very busy front end is dominated by a massive grille, which is flanked by LED headlights and supported by a stylised front bumper, but overall has a more symmetrical appearance that the current version.
The Infiniti Q80 Monograph will be unveiled at the 2017 New York motor show.
