As the British car maker is in the initial stages of transforming a former RAF base in Wales into its second manufacturing facility, it is celebrating by creating 10 examples of the Vanquish S Red Arrows edition, which takes its inspiration from the Royal Air Force’s famed Red Arrows aerobatics division.
Wearing the same vibrant red as the Arrows, the Vanquish S also wears white and blue carbon livery with white highlights detailing the white smoke trail left by the jets on the side skirt. A carbon fibre roof panel is inlaid with a pattern that mimics the canopy design of the plane, while Union Jack badges and a titanium exhaust round out the exterior touches.
Inside, the Red Arrows edition is marked by Pinewood green inserts and Martin Baker ejection seat fabric and green webbing seatbelts. The seat backs are also embroidered with the jets in a diamond formation. Each car features a engine plaque numbered 1 through 10 that will be signed by the corresponding Red Arrows pilot.
Other touches include One-77 derived steering wheel and an aviation inspired rotary toggle while the door cards feature the ‘Vixen Break’, which is a high-G aircraft formation.
Each buyer will also receive a bespoke racing helmet, racing suit, bomber jacket, car cover, build book and a Vanquish S luggage set.
The Aston Martin Vanquish S is powered by 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine that produces 444kW and 630Nm and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with power delivered to the rear wheels.
